I’m having a Mad Men moment today, and have loved Joan’s style for a while now, so here’s my Joan Holloway inspired lookbook – what do you think? Have I got it right?

Love it! Especially the dress – gorgeous!
gorgeous dress isn’t it?!
Everything is lovely, except it doesn’t really scream Joan to me. Don’t get me wrong, the color of the dress would suit her beautifully, but any devoted Mad Men fan will tell you that Joan is famous for her jewel-toned, wiggle/pencil dresses and blouse/pencil skirt combos that flatters that gorgeous hourglass figure of hers. She normally accessorizes with scarves, brooches and her trademark pen necklace. That said, I think the items that you’ve showcased here are beautiful and would be a nice Sophia Loren-esque style to try for Christina Hendricks (the actress playing Joan). Love your blog, btw!
Hi Katty-Kit – I think you’ve got it spot on there! it was definitely the colour of the dress which made me think of her more than the shape
