Win Goodwood Revival 2012 Tickets

Goodwood Revival 2012THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED. THE WINNER HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED HERE

This week’s competition is really something special – a pair of tickets to the Goodwood Revival!

For those of you who don’t already know about the Goodwood Revival, it’s a wonderful step back in time into the world of vintage cars and fashion at one of the world’s most beautiful and authentic racing circuits.

The Revival is the world’s most popular historic motor race meeting and the only event of its kind to be staged entirely in the nostalgic time capsule of the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

It is the biggest and best historic motor racing party of the year.

The Revival offers visitors the opportunity to leave the ‘modern world’ behind and join motor sport luminaries including Sir Stirling Moss, Richard Attwood, John Surtees and Derek Bell in an unabashed celebration of flat-out, wheel-to-wheel racing around a classic racetrack, untouched by the modern world.

You’re actively encouraged to dress in 40s, 50s or 60s clothing which, set to the soundtrack of live vintage music really adds to the atmosphere of the day!

Definitely the Sophia Loren look – number 1. I love the 60′s fashion, and the music, and the green trousers are stunning against the black top. It’s funky as well. Sex kitten look.!

Look # 1. This is classic and will always be in style with the addition of era appropriate accessories and hair style. The top bares enough skin to be a tease and the cropped pants keep the class. The green pops and keeps the look fresh enough to wear any season. Sophia is one of my favorites as well and I would wear that outfit. Makes me a tad bias. Sultry with Style.

has to be #1 the Sophie Loren look – true class – lady, style and clothes!

  • http://@Cecilia102 irenemaier2003@yahoo.co.uk

No 1 Sophia Loren is just so sexy, classy and just cult.

  • Theresa Driscoll

no2 Brigitte Bardot, feminine, stunning waist to the dress

  • teressa oliver

Sophia Loren is just classic and sexy without being over the top

  • Natalie Smart

Jean Shrimpton. Quintessentially English. She was one of the first iconic models of 1960s fashion, fanastic beauty but not in a love herself way. She almost didn’t care which made her even more appealing. She was also a hand knitter and made her own clothes which means she was more than just a beautiful model!

  • Julia Atkinson

Brigitte Bardot – she just sums up the elegance and fun of the Revival

  • kenzie harvey

Look 4 ! – Jean Shrimpton. the amazing peach colour is so fresh and summery. The embellishment will glisten and makes a real statement on such a delicate dress to give you the pop of the 1960′s idol !

  • Donna Daugherty

It must be Number 2 Brigitte Bardot what a gorgeous figure and a natural look

    • Tony Rix

Brigitte Bardot is the epitome of the 1950′s classic post war-look, when Goodwood (and the whole UK) was reviving from wartime privations and drabness. Her glamour and fashion heralded luxury and femininity – all that was missing in wartime Britain. Her fun, fashion and frivolity complemented the recreation of the golden era of motor sport, bringing colour to the classic cars and joy to all ex-servicemen.

  • Caroline Warren

    Look # 1 – It’s a classic, timeless combination!

  • Saran Benjamin

It has got to be #4 jean Shrimpton, neat lines, easy to wear for day or night.

  • angela morgan

#4 jean Shrimpton easily and styled perfectly for a Goodwood event

  • Rachel Henley

#4 Jean Shrimpton – that 60′s baby doll look is so easy to wear and so sexy/stylish – its quite late for Goidwood but its my fave goodwood look!

  • joanna e

#2 brigitte bardot. a wonderfully designed dress, hint of french and a hint of british but no skimming on the style.

  • IMc

Bridget Bardot look is elegant, sexy, timeless and beutifully summery.

  • Mark Mills

Look Number 2 Bridgette Bardot Look. I love the Femine , Summery Look.

  • Jane

Look 3 – Dita von Teese – is closest to the vintage heart of the Goodwood Revival. This 1940s, austerity style could pose to best effect against all the service uniforms and WW11 military vehicles which enthusiasts bring to the revival.

  • Philip Small

I think number 4 – The Jean Shrimpton look, it epitomises the strengths of British design and the unique ’60s combination of style

  • Christine CW

Number 3 Dita von Teese is my favourite for the Goodwood vintage look. It looks so right for the event and you could dress it up or down to suit your own style as well.

  • Lindsey G

I love the Look 2 Bardot…….. Not much else to say other than its is uber stylish and I want that dress!

  • Fran Light

I love Look Number 2 – Brigitte Bardot – I love the full-skirts, big petticoats and cinched in waists of that era; it’s such a feminine look and this kind of dress really suits my hourglass figure …

  • http://weheartvintage.co.uk Alison Reid

Look 4 does it for me. Classic elegant, and chic. A head turning look – and deservedly so.

  • CAT WILLIAMS

I LOVE no 2 – classic, casual but quite sporty. It looks clean and fresh and fab for any age

  • http://gravatar.com/hoops120 hoops120

I love look no 1. Bold, but classy, and I’d love to wear an outfit like that to Goodwood!

  • Steve Pegg

Definitely #2 Brigitte Bardot – its just got the wow factor and would definitely catch the eye at the Goodwood Revival or anywhere. The colours and cut are just fabulous.

  • Hollie Fraser

The Bridget Bardot look is classic and timeless – would definetly wear this myself!

  • David Hyslop

The Bridget Bardot look is definitely my favourite, I’m watching the Mad Men tv series at the moment, Don Drapers wife would look awesome in this dress. It is perfect for the occasional!

  • elaine stokes

it has to be look no:4 the jean shrimpton one, it reminds me of the photos of my mum when she was younger……

  • Alice

Look #2. As well as encompassing that era almost perfectly by being both classy as well as flirty, Bardot herself knew, and quite possible dated, my favourite racing driver of all time – François Cevert. Whilst Cevert will always be my hero, Bardot is without a doubt my fashion inspiration; and so that particular look makes my heart sing for many reasons. A stunning piece that, for me, is timeless.

  • marie yeardley

Dita Von Teese the look that oozes style, sex and sass

  • Anna Kobielak

Look 3 Dita Von Teese is my favourite. I love simple, elegant, classic dresses.

  • Emily McMillan

I love look 2 Brigitte Bardot… such a stylish, beautiful lady and iconic figure and this look captures her style and the time perfectly. Plus it would give a great twirl which is essential when you’re feeling great in vintage!! I can just picture mingling amongst the beautiful sports cars and really feeling the part. I would love to go to the revival, I’d love the glamour and atmosphere and my Dad is a huge classic car fan who’s never been so I’d love to take him!

    Thanks, Emily x

  • Chrissy Elliott

Got to be NO 2 for the Va Va Voom. Goodwood transports people back to a time when people were nice to each other, we were looking forward and happy to be at peace again. That three piece outfit underlines that feeling with a happy bouncy feel. I am a great fan of the Pierce Brosnan version of Thomas Crown Affair, its elegant flair, the sophisticated class and … aaah the romance … again this dress reminds me of that and reflected in the sights and sounds of Goodwood it will fit in perfectly enhanced with simple but happy, hopeful accessories. Good Luck Everyone!

  • Natasha

Definitely look no.2 for me, it’s flattering, feminine and playful and reminds me of summer (sunny) holidays! I bet Brigitte Bardot would have been absolutely stunning in that dress and the silhouette is classic of the good old 50′s!

  • http://gravatar.com/cosmonauty Annaloa Hilmarsdottir

The Sophia Loren look because it is elegant and comfortble to wear. It is perfect for a sporting event such as Goodwood Revival and its classic elegance.

  • cg

sophia loren, just right for walking round Goodwood, classic like the cars

  • jo davies

look 4# jean shrimpton, in this royal jubilee year this look is very queenie on a walk about love it!!

  • Alison

Look#4 – the lines, color, and cut will be perfect for photos with the cars and in finding coordinating accessories – especially a hat! One must always consider the outfit for a car show – picture yourself with the cars – and make sure the dress compliaments both you and them and doesn’t compete. This dress covers all the parts women usually hide but sparkles in just the right places – this also makes it easy for jewelry. Less to pack my dear since the dress comes with sparkle! It also leaves you open to fantastic flats or wedges – never aerate the lawn ladies – one must keep moving to see all the fabulous cars! Goodwood is on my bucket list as it is on my parents’ – cheers to the drivers and the fantastic cars. “If God had meant for us to walk, why did he give us feet that fit car pedals?” -Sir Stirling Moss
