I just love Grace Kelly’s sense of style. I don’t know if this is true or not, my grandmother told me as a child that I am related to her. I don’t think I got that style gene from her side of the family!
what a fabulous idea – what great genes you must have!
Grace Kelly was so classy (and beautifully stunning) if she really were in the court of King Louis XV of France would certainly overshadow the prettiest courtesans around her…
Wasn’t she stunning?!
“beautifully stunning”, Mary!, This is one notch above…
To Catch A Thief is one of the most dazzling to just look at films, ever. The entire look of the scenery, costumes, jewelry, automobiles, name it – elegant perfection. I have watched it so many times. The people are all beautiful, good and bad.
I agree! Unconsciously Sir Alfred Hitchcock paid a final tribute to Grace Kelly, his one and only true diva, with a movie that’s pure beauty. Years later he performed his masterpiece – Vertigo – in which the argument is false appearances and obsession. In fact, the protagonist (Jimmy Stewart) mania of recreating his dead beloved (Kim Novak) was Hitchcock’s own frustration at having lost Grace forever …
I didn’t know that – I’m writing a post on Hitchcock’s blondes at the moment – which was your favourite?
Without doubt, first and foremost: Grace Kelly! The others, in decreasing order: Ingrid Bergman, Kim Novak and Tippi Hedren.
