Fashion sketch: dress design for Grace Kelly

1950s fashion design for Grace Kelly

One of my new year’s resolutions this year is to do more drawing, so I thought I’d start by designing a dress for one of my favourite fifties fashion icons: Grace Kelly. What do you think? Would she have looked good in this? (Obviously she would have looked good dressed in a bin-liner but you know what I mean!)

Lovely dress (and drawings), Mary! Congrats. I am sure that the choice of color, “Celeste Bleu” (sky blue) is a tribute to paradise, the place where our muse is now. I’m also sure that she approved the sketches and has sent angels sew the beautiful costume for next season … (summertime.) Warmest wishes, Augustus.
