THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED, AND THE WINNER IS RACHEL CRAIG. CONGRATULATIONS RACHEL RICEFIELD WILL BE IN TOUCH TO ARRANGE YOUR PRIZE.
I’ve got a fabulous giveaway for you today. Ricefield Collective have kindly offered me one of their beautiful hand-knitted beannie hats to giveaway.
Ricefield Collective are an ethical fashion company who hand-knit all their hats, scarves, cowls and gloves in a little village nestled in the Ifugao Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Carved out of the Philippine mountains thousands of years ago, the Ifugao Rice Terraces were built without forced labor and is a tribute not to a ruler, but to the power of community. This is very much how we still work the fields and now knit together.
We hope for knitting to be enfolded in our members’ daily lives, so that they can continue to take care of their fields, homes, and children, while earning enough income to stay where they and their ancestors have lived for generations. We think of it as a compliment, rather than a substitute.
I’ve got a Ricefield Collective beannie (you can see mine here) and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Not only are they comfortable, stylish and beautiful quality, the company are transparently ethical and eco-friendly, so you feel great wearing their products!
About the Prize:

One of acclaimed designer Stephen West’s signature pieces, the Windschief is a dependable cool weather hat with a twist.
