Chanel’s new No.5 advert with Marilyn Monroe

Inside Chanel No.5 Marilyn Monroe

Chanel have recently managed to buy a rare recording of Marilyn talking about her famous Chanel No.5 quote. You know the one:

What do you wear to bed?

Just a few drops of Chanel No.5…

I’ve always worn Chanel No.5, partly because I love it, partly because I knew Marilyn adored it, but mostly because it’s the perfume my mum wears, so I grew up loving it…

It might have taken them 60 years but Chanel have finally been able to use Marilyn in a legitimate Chanel ad – she beats Brad Pitt hands down doesn’t she?!

This is the photo I think Chanel should have used for their latest print campaign

1950s: a young Clint Eastwood with Donald O’Connor

1950s Young Clint Eastwood with Donald OConnor

A young Clint Eastwood (far left) on set with Donald O’Connor from the movie ”Francis in the Navy” in 1955.

Donald O’Connor is of course the one who starred alongside Gene Kelly in Singing in the Rain and performed the best (and most exhuasting) dance routine of all time in Make ‘Em Laugh (the one where he runs up the wall).

Loved this routine when I watched it as a kid and still love it today!

Thank you Abercrombie & Fitch!

I needed something to cheer me up this morning, and voila! Thanks to Abercrombie & Fitch’s latest ad campaign you can have a giggle and watch lots of semi-naked male models dancing round lip-syncing to Carly Rae’s Call Me Maybe?

Trust me, it’s worth a look and it’ll certainly make you smile :)

I’ve always wondered how to get 1940s hair, and this video gives a really good (and simple) tutorial about how to create hair rolls – I’ll definitely be giving this a try!
