This stunning 1950s black satin handbag is by Bohny of Zurich. It is in beautiful condition and is made from black pleated satin, a satin covered metal frame with brass clasp and is also fully lined in satin. With original mirror and satin coin purse. Bag measures 9 x 7 inches. Retail price: £85

I would wear this with a peach chiffon dress, (slightly rouged in the middle to match the texture in the bag), a thick gold bracelet, a long gold chain with a subtle yet elegant pendant, and black satin heels with a bow. If it was a sunny day, I would also accompany this outfit with sleek Jackie O sunglasses with a hint of gold in the frame.

A slinky LBD and very high heels
I have a lovely black strapless dress with dusky pink flowers that is figure hugging and slanted at the bottom (just below the knee), and a pair of black, slightly wedged sandals from Lotus. This bag would suit perfectly!

I have a lovely black and silver evening dress, I don’t get the opportunity to wear it often, but this lovely bag would go with it beautifully.
a simple silver shift dress with black shoes and necklace and bracelet and of course the black handbag okay.

i would wear this bag with something simple yet tasteful as i think the bag speaks for itself and would not want to draw that much attention away from it ! i’m thinking of a beautiful crystal white knee length pencil dress with a simple round neckline. and some skyscrapper black courts. id go without jewels as i think the bag would be the only best friend id need over my shoulder <3

a vintage little black pleated skirt dress with white lace collar & a pearl bracelet & pearl choker style cameo necklace. Some lovely black satin high heels adorned with a diamante brooch detail just to complete the look.

I have a strapless, cream-y violet-y dress this has a floaty, crepe-paper like overlay that the pattern on this bag reminds me of. Because the dress’ colour is quite pale and plain, the dark black of this bag and the gold clasp would really make a nice contrast.

I’d have to leave the choice of dress for my girlfriend…although, at some point in the evening, it will be paired with my suit (dark grey, white shirt, no tie….brown shoes). It won’t match.

I found a “Spotlight” by WAREHOUSE dress whilst rifling through a rather lovely charity shop two weeks ago, black , short and with a severely structured boned waistline and net underskirt , I couldv’e wept in the changing room when i tried it on, I also scooped a pair of crisp black Mary Janes (donated by a kindly retailer) a total of £35 for a date to go dancing that evening! I would love to treasure this beautiful bag with the outfit (pop my Gucci sunnies inside for walking home in the early hours!)..and a thin gold headband for a little pop of colour ..

Wow, I know exactly what I’d wear: slim fitted blue jeans with turn ups, red peep toe sling backs and a gingham shirt tied at the front. Red lippy and my hair with a big roll at the front, I have to have that bag now!

in the 1980’s i was a rockabilly and dressed in 1940’s & 50’s clothes, hair and make up, i loved my poodle skirts and would still wear them now, they’re great with high heels or flats

black wiggle dress
No need to buy anything, I have THE perfect dress. It is peach chiffon, cowl neck, black polka dots, tied at the waist and mini pleats at the skirt. I love it. I would wear my hair up, maybe in a cute bun. I have some very comfy/cute/sexy/suits anything black wedge sandals that i would wear too. Oh and I never go anywhere without my fabulous vintage pearl bracelet that i wore on my wedding day.
This bag would make me feel like Olivia again, the only bags I normally lug around are stuffed full of nappies, wipes and healthy snacks!
Clearly, being a bloke, this will not suit any of my outfits 🙂

This bag is lovely, and I think it work with any outfit! I’d most likely wear a 1940’s black pencil style skirt and an ultra feminine chiffon blouse.
This bag is absolutely gorgeous – a real statement piece! I would wear it with a simple LBD – round neck, cap sleeves, fitted at the wait, and pencil skirt style to the knee with a split at the back. I would team it with a really chunky pearl bracelet and string of single large pearls with my hair up in a chignon and it would be the perfect outfit for my god-daughter’s Christening coming up soon!

I would go for a monochrome look with a black and white fitted dress, black heels, gloves and shoes, or maybe even white gloes so it would stand out against my hands when I fussed with it.

I would wear my satin black dress which has an underskirt to puff the dress out. I added my own mark on the dress by adding a few Swarovski crystals & sequin details to the dresses straps & neck line, I also have a number of different coloured ribbons that I tie around the waist to help my showing my curves, I would use the red ribbon which go with my sparkly red heels & your fab fabulous bag would complete the whole outfit.

Gooorgeous… I think that would look so awesome with a black sheer maxi skirt and a white top/shirt – perhaps with some lace or ruffle details… I think I have the right outfit ready for it in my wardrobe, actually 🙂 Although that would look great with a dress too, but I like the idea of pairing it with black & white!
