You might remember I went to Goodwood Revival a few weeks ago (you can see my post about the day here if you missed it). It was a wonderful weekend filled with vintage fashions and cars and I was delighted today to come across these wonderful photos of the best dressed people at the Revival 2012 courtesy of Matt Hind at Men’s File.
These are my top 20. Let me know what you think, do you agree? Which is your favourite outfit?
Number 20. 1950s full-skirted dress worn with pearls and white gloves. I’m not sure about the thick white belt, but I love the fabric in this vintage dress.
Number 19. I adore this cat-print dress and veiled hat combination. I’m not so wild on the fur but, as you’ll see, there was a lot of fur on display!
Number 18: Aren’t these 40s-style cuffs wonderful? Actually they may be part of the gloves – either way I really want some…
Number 17: A super chic 40s-style look: tea dress and fur coat.
Number 16. Love this 40s-style hat.
Number 15: Lovely 1940s veiled hat, fur jacket and gloves – gorgeous!
Number 14: A forties vision in burgundy. I love the different combination of textures in this outfit – especially those tights.
Number 13. Isn’t this 50s straw hat just perfect?
Number 12. Very cute 40s Navy-style outfit
Number 11. 1940s polka dot dress with tiny veiled hat and pearls. The lip piercing just adds a bit of modern edge to this look.
Number 10. A super elegant 40s outfit – this is perfect apart from the dead mink(?) hanging over her shoulder!
Number 9. It’s the contrasting green glovers with the cream dress which makes this outfit for me
Number 8. This big printed circle skirt is gorgeous, along iwth that great hairstyle.
Number 7. This outfit gives me serious sunglasses-envy . I love the feather decoration and that green 40s dress too!
Number 6. The bright quirky accents make this outfit really stand out. The blouse picks out the beautiful colours of the feathers and her lipstick. Oh and those sunglasses are great!
Number 5. This is such a beautiful forties outfit. Everything just goes together perfectly!
Number 4. I adore this 1950s orange wool coat. If I wore it I’m certain it would look like a dressing gown, but this lady carries off the look beautifully!
Number 3. Pretty, demure and yet really stylish. This outfit really rocks!
Number 2. This is just vintage perfection! This photo looks like it’s straight out of a 1950s Vogue shoot. My favourite details are the multi-coloured buttons on the gloves.
Number 1. And my favourite has to be this cheeky 40s RAF pin-up girl outfit. Isn’t it wonderful?

I agree completely 18, and 7 are a couple of my faves! Love the cuff. I love the colors in all of them. How adorable!
aren’t they wonderful Cynthia? I’ll do a different post with all the boys and children’s fashions too. Really inspiring for a vintage nerd like me π
my lovely gloves are very chuffed with all the attention at their first outing for Goodwood 2012. The sunray stripes are part (cuffs) of the gloves and are made of the softest dusky pink and brown leather. Must have been dazzling driving gauntlets in their day! Imagine the car! I’d date them to late 30s – early 40s.
You looked wonderful Deborah – where did you find such fabulous gloves? π
I love this post and seeing these wonderful, clever outfits. What a treat! Thank you.
Thanks Mary π I bought the gloves at an antiques fair, initially to sell in my shop but knowing I’d probably keep them as so unusual and gorgeous (with a thought for Goodwood Revival..). Could never part with them now!
they certainly are lovely. Do you have a vintage shop then?
hi Mary, yes I have a shop..you can find out more here

I’ll go and have a look, thanks π
I can’t pick one. I love 18.12, 13 and 2 and 1- 20. The portraits are beautiful and I assume you took them. This is so lovely. Everyone looks like they either followed a vintage pattern or were lucky enough to find the actual dress. Everyone here just looks so smashing and vintage. I love it! You should start one in the US (Goodwood Revival).
Oh, I see Matt Hind did the photos. Very nice.
I think outfits 2, 5, and 7 are vintage perfection. How much fun those ladies must have had dressing up! So neat! Wish I was there!!! xox
Reblogged this on stacyblaise.
This post is pure perfection. Don’t make me choose which is my favorite..
Miss Blase
it’s a tough decision isn’t it? I’m doing a post about the mens fashions at the moment and that’s even harder!
Looking forward to this….
Love love love these photos. Must say I really love the fur – if the pieces are old it’s great to see them get a second lease of life π The navy outfit is brilliant!
The fur really does make some of the outfits doesn’t it? I don’t mind vintage fur, but there were a couple of vintage stalls selling vintage AND new fur there which I didn’t like…
Oh no, not happy with new fur at all. I think that old pieces should be worn because otherwise they go to waste, but I’d never wear anything new at all. Not a fan!
