Isn’t this a delightful photo? I know that opinions have changed enormously about having exotic animals as pets and you just wouldn’t see this anymore, but my 6 year old is obsessed with bit cats and would like a pet tiger more than anything else so I can only imagine how delighted this little girl was!

Having said that my son would probably like a pet T-Rex too so there’s probably a very good reason you don’t let you children choose your pets… I just hope the owner / pet relationship carried on being this good once the tiger was full size… This photo was taken by Lucile and William Mann’s expedition to the East Indies in 1937.
