1940s Fashion: The Definitive Sourcebook is the most wonderful book! It’s packed with nearly 500 pages of 1940s fashion photos and illustrations which take you through the whole decade: from wartime austerity and fashion influenced by the war effort and rationing, to Christian Dior’s iconic ‘New Look’ from 1947.
If you’re fascinated by vintage fashion like I am you can just lose yourself in a book like this! Whether you’re in the mood to read up on the history behind 40s fashion, or just want to kick back and look at some beautiful photos, it’s a great resource to have.
I’m looking forward to sunny days sitting in the garden with a chilled glass of wine and this book, sounds like bliss…
