My vintage: Goodwood Revival outfits

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or more precisely haven’t stopped by my blog in the last few days) you probably know that it was Goodwood Revival at the weekend. I haven’t really posted anything about my outfits so I thought I’d share those with you today.

On Friday I wore a 1960s houndstooth print minidress with vintage turquoise clip earrings and a Sixties-style cape coat, and on Sunday I upped the glam levels with this vintage 1960s dress which I’d shortened and chopped the sleeves off because they were stiff and uncomfortable.

I wasn’t sure whether I should alter the dress originally, it felt a bit like I was defacing it, but I figure it’s much better than I wear it than it stays in the cupboard in it’s original state… I teamed it with my Marc Jacobs shoes (the only designer item I own) and a matching vintage handbag with bamboo handles and topped the whole affair off with my friend Lou-Lou’s goreous faux-fur coat and more plastic vintage earrings. It was damn cold.

Still, the whole thing went well. My hurriedly constructed beehive lasted all day, despite the best efforts of the weather and a vintage merry-go-round to dismantle it and a great day was had by all!

My little boy Theo wore a 40s inspired outfit with shorts (brrrrrr) and his vintage waistcoat on one day, and a 50s-inspired combo on the other day while my husband was a 1950s race mechanic for the weekend.

I was a little envious of all the RAF uniforms which were on display and would quite like to get my hands on one of those for next year. Any tips on finding one?
