I have a secret soft-spot for the Seventies. Despite being horrified by flares, paisley and anything brown throughoutt my younger years, I seem to have finally got over all that.
Flared jeans are now my favourite kind of jeans, I’d be lost without my shearling-style gilet and I love nothing better than a good clucky block heel. I also love this vintage 1970s dress – it makes me feel like I “Should Be Dancing, yeaaaah” around on the dance floor with John Travolta…
Thank you to the lovely Helene at Revival Vintage who kindly loaned me this dress. If you’d like to buy it you can here, and please take 5 minutes to look around her website, she has the most lovely things!
The photos were taken with my Canon EOS 60D camera.
I have quite a few clothes from the 70s including a couple of fitted shirts with large collars (not the psychedelic variety), pinafore maxi dress and Crimplene dresses I have shortened. I agree there are elements of a 70s wardrobe I would avoid but I love the cluster prints and fit and flare silhouette. Thanks for reminding me, haven’t worn them in a while.
