I’m totally engrossed in Downton Abbey this season. I was a late starter and only began watching it at the beginning of last season (series three) and I don’t know how I ever did without it! I can’t believe it’s the last in the season this Sunday! I plan to revel in every single minute of it.

As well as the scandalous and rather shocking storylines this series (I won’t let slip any spoilers in case you haven’t seen it yet), the fashions have been just wonderful! Lady Edith Crawley has totally blossomed and is becoming ever more stylish with each episode, Lady Mary (still) looks great in black, Cora is as fabulous as ever and as for Lady Rose, she’s just the most delicious little bright young thing!

The problem is, the fashions make my 1920s dress feel a little dour and drab (despite some fabulous beading). It would be great for Lady Mary, but it’s not her style I’m coveting. I’ve had a good look around and picked some of my vintage 1920s favourites to share. The great thing is that lots of 1980s styles were robbed from the Twenties so it’s not as hard the Downton look as you might think! I haven’t included any flapper dresses (I think they deserve a post of their own).

Which of these is your favourite? I love that vintage 1920s chemise!
