Lauren Bacall in a publicity photo from the 1950s I would guess. Isn’t she stunning? I’m not sure when this was taken or for which movie, but I’m guessing she’s in her early 20s in this picture. When I compare her with myself in my early 20s she’s astonishingly sophisticated *sigh*

She was 19 going on 20 when she made To Have and Have Not in 1944 … Very mature! Look at Liz Taylor’s pictures when she was 15 or 16, girls seemed to want to be grown up much earlier back then …
I could only dream of looking that grown up at 15! The stars certainly did look very grown up for their age then 🙂
Young women did often look incredibly chic and sophisticated in the ’50s – maybe the black and white photography helps! I love Bacall’s style, particularly her boyish yet cute looks – gorgeous.
