Is your Facebook feed full of people announcing engagements at the moment? Christmas and New Year certainly seem to be popular times to pop the question, and if you’re one of the lucky people who now have a wedding to look forward to you’re going to need a dress.

Vintage wedding dresses have surged in popularity over the past few years. Kate Moss wore a 1930s-inspired gown, as indeed I did back in the day (see the photo at the bottom of the page) and even Kate Middleton’s dress was inspired by Grace Kelly’s wedding to Prince Rainier III  in 1956.

Lots of people now decide to go for a vintage dress for their big day. And with good reason! Not only will your dress be beautiful, but it will be unique to you. You won’t go to another wedding and see the bride wearing ‘your’ dress if you’re wearing a genuine 1950s gown.

I’ve searched through the very best vintage gowns on the market at the moment, ranging from the Edwardian Era through to the 1980s and including every decade in between. Take a look at these beautiful choices, and let me know which is your favourite!

Just click on a dress if you’d like to know more about it.

And if you’re looking for the photo of me on my wedding day, here you go. The dress was a 30s-inspired silk fishtail dress with literally hundreds of buttons at the back!
