Vintage Look Book: 1920s Chinese

Kung hei fat choy! Happy Chinese new year! Today marks the start of the new Chinese Year of the Horse, and to celebrate I thought I’d share a fabulous vintage outfit inspired by the first Chinese-American movie star of the 1920s: Anna May Wong.

Fashion in the 1920s often took inspiration from Chinese, Japanese and Egyptian art and included the use of exquisite embroidery and metallic threads. I particularly love the silk Chinese kimonos which were popular at this time. What do you think of this outfit? Do you like this or prefer the traditional flapper style of the Twenties?
