I like Vintage of all types and kinds of items. Shopping for them and owning them lend to a time long ago of innocence and instills, for me, a better sense of self and secures me in feeling a part of my own past. I like the emotional infusion brought on by having in my possession and wearing a piece of the past. Knowing The story behind these items outside of my original ownership can be quite fun especially when upon researching the item is identifiable. Furs are Insurable and therefore some are worth a hefty claim. I, myself, own several. I find each one very useful. For many years I have built on my small collection. It is incredible how, when wearing a small fur my whole body is warm and most of me is not covered, amazing. The fact that the furs are so useful I do not pass judgement to whether or not anyone indulges in owning and or, wearing their own fur. The purpose of animal fur is Biblical….although, the kind creatures that we wear for warmth these days are protected and or highly protected from certain Hunt rules and some are no longer huntable and the rules are strict. I personally would not wear a fur with the face, legs, claws, or prominent tail attached. It is my personal choice. Again, in this day and age a Mink cannot be necessarily hunted or ‘trapped’. If found you may own a Mink animal as a pet, if found on youre own land, here in California. And, Hunting them is not allowed, is my understanding. Neither can a Silver Fox. Quite possible, the standing could be for all Fox. I do own both an Antique blue Mink and a Vintage red Fox, not dyed and a few others. I am not opposed to people utilizing Furs for warmth provided the rules of engagement in obtaining them are and have been obeyed and adhered to.
